Ella Barrett and Jashan Walton explore the intersection of community world-building and creative practice through a 2023 residency by RESOLVE Collective
Led by community archivist and curator Ella Barrett, and filmmaker-photographer Jashan Walton, audio visual art practice White Teeth 98 looks back to 2023 and a week-long residency organized by RESOLVE Collective for the short film Nurturing Ecologies.
An interdisciplinary design collective, combining architecture, engineering, technology and art to address social challenges, for the residency, RESOLVE brought together Black, POC and marginalized group-led organisations who champion radical approaches to community world-building through creative practice.
Connecting with Barrett and visual artist, writer and researcher Nathaniel Télémaque, Nurturing Ecologies layers candid images, unfiltered quotes, and vivid illustrations over raw footage, as they reflect on how the residency influenced their practice.
